The Power of the Women In This Room

Protecting Women & Children From the Middle East to NY
Lena Alhusseini began her career as a social worker in Saudi Arabia. After witnessing the abuse of young women, she was moved to involve herself in child protection and domestic violence. She served with a number of international organizations on issues pertaining to child protection and human trafficking, including USAID and UNICEF. Most notably, she established the Jordan River Children under the direction of HM Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan. The organization was the first in the Middle East to address the issue of child abuse and protection. She is now the Executive Director of the Arab American Family Support Center (AAFC) in New York. She is very excited about the work she's doing educating the community about sexual assault.
