We all know the pluses of trees in our environment: they're beautiful. They produce fruits and they
eat carbon out of the air. You can also strategically plan trees to maximize efficiency for the heating
and cooling of your home.
In fact, if one million people planted a tree in their yard, 1.33 million tons of CO2 would be
absorbed over the tree's life. That's one ton of CO2 per tree!
Having trees also means maintaining them. Once a tree's life has expired, it actually emits CO2 back
into the air, so it is best to cut it down and salvage it for lumber or bury in a landfill. You could
even mulch it then bury it under your land to give back nutrients to the soil.
