We are looking for undergraduate students and graduating seniors to join our Media & Marketing & Design Teams for a summer internship with WomensphereInteractive. Successful applicants will have experience (academic, extra-curricular, or internship) in AT LEAST ONE of these functions: feature writing/editing, journalism, PR, marketing, promotions, event organization, videography.Successful applicants will have a positive, can-do spirit; have a passion for empowering and supporting women; have passion for media or marketing; be a no-ego, no-attitude, supportive team-player; have great communication skills; and have a good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA).   • Strong financial modeling skills
  • CPA/CFA a plus

Organizational Overview: The I Do Foundation is a national nonprofit foundation that is changing the way weddings are celebrated by incorporating opportunities for charitable giving into every step of the wedding planning process. As a social enterprise, the I Do Foundation offers engaged couples a variety of programs that help transform wedding spending into new donations for charity. By making it easy to integrate philanthropy into special life celebrations, the I Do Foundation seeks to increase charitable donations, particularly to social justice causes. It is our vision that charitable giving will become accepted and expected at special lifecelebrations. In ten years when someone returns from a wedding, we want people to ask: "Who was the best man? What color were the bridesmaids' dresses? And what was thecouple's charity?"

Position Overview: The I Do Foundation seeks an Executive Director to help us grow our message of charitable giving, specifically by creating opportunities for donations during consumer transactions throughout the wedding process. The role of the Executive Director will be to leverage current relationships, build on proven successes, and launch new partnerships that generate both new donations and earned income to sustain the organization. The ideal candidate for this position is a dynamic, entrepreneurial person who is interested in exploring new ways to fund and grow social enterprises and has a strong commitment to social justice issues of equity and fairness.

Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to -Business Development -Fundraising -Organizational Leadership and Strategic Planning
-Financial Management -Marketing and Public Relations

Qualifications:

The strongest candidates for the Executive Director position will exhibit the following competencies and experiences:

  • 10+ years of successful professional experience in the private and/or nonprofit sector; experience in business development,corporate strategy or marketing preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and vision of The I Do Foundation
  • Track record of success in building, securing and nurturing sponsorships and corporate partnerships; experience with cause-related marketing preferred
  • Strong technological proficiency; experience working with and/or marketing a web-based organization preferred
  • Proven ability to generate revenue through the cultivation of individual, corporate, foundation, and government funding relationships
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal management principles and procedures; nonprofit financial management experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience with national media preferred
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments; experience managingwithin a virtual environment preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred
